Jessica Alba, Eva Longoria, and Rachel Zoe prove that a neutral mix can actually produce feminine and sophisticated looks. It´s subtle but it stands out against a sea of dark and bright colors. Because it´s soft and pleasant to the eye, an au natural look from head to toe attracts attention. We know that smoke rose and other neutrals in shades of very light pink and light brown rosettes are a trend for fall/winter 2012, but these fabulous colors, in reality, never go out of trend. If they´re not trending, neutrals are there to temper other strong and shocking colors.
Cocoon Sweater with White Pants
This is a classic, chic look. Jessica Alba layered a white shirt under a stone white sweater teamed with ivory pants, which cuffs are pulled up, and some sexy nude pumps. A long wool scarf is thrown around her neck. And clearly, it´s the white fedora hat that polished everything with style. To get her look, you can work on either a button down shirt layered over with a sweater, or a turtleneck layered over with a cardigan. You can opt for a neutral printed knitted if you think a monochrome scarf is too plain for you. A white shoulder bag is your perfect accessory.
Lace Top with Leather Shorts
Eva Longoria looked very feminine and stylish in this ensemble – a long sleeve pink top with spring laces paired with brown leather shorts. She went for pink platform pumps with ankle straps which matched the color of her top. To get this look, go for a lace top of your type, it can be with long or short sleeves, and look for leather shorts to complement your top. I found a Mary Jane platform pump with ankle strap which looks very similar to Eva´s, however it doesn´t go right for the look I´ve created above.
Sparkle Cardigan with Taupe Over the Knee Boots
Rachel Zoe isn´t known only for her style but also for her in-demand fashion line. In this look, she´s wearing a gray sequined cardigan over a white tunic paired with nude over the knee boots. Very trendy and upbeat is this look that I definitely want to copy it. But instead of dark jeans, I prefer stone white skinny jeans to wear with the boots.
What about you? How do you like mixing neutral colored pieces? Which celebrity look above would you love to mimic?
